Shamian Island in Liwan, Guangzhou has a total of 137 trees with a lifespan of over 100 years.To maintain the health of these ancient trees, an ancient tree exploration activity–looking for the "green light" of the city–was held on the island on March 13.

The "tree doctors" from the Guangzhou Institute of Forestry and Landscape Architecture, carrying professional equipment, conducted a "physical examination" of these ancient trees.These trees have witnessed the history of Shamian Island and the growth of the Shamian neighborhood. "Tree doctors" remind citizens to pay attention to safety when passing by the eucalyptus trees, whose bark is brittle and easy to fall off.

3月13日，寻找城市“绿光”——拾翠洲古树探究活动在沙面岛举行。广州市林业和园林科学研究院的“树木医生”带着专业设备，现场为沙面岛上的百岁古树进行了“身体检查”。

古树见证了沙面岛的历史，也陪伴着沙面街坊成长。“树木医生”提醒，市民经过桉树要注意安全，桉树的树皮易脆，容易脱落。
